Dear Valued Customer:

BSH Home Appliances has identified a potential shock hazard problem with the Thermador electric cooktop model TMH45PS which were manufactured after February 2002. We identified the potential problem during normal product testing. To date, there have been no incidents reported. Thermador will be conducting free inspections and will repair your cooktop free of charge. Since there are no extra parts needed to complete the repair, we anticipate this to be smooth modification. The serial numbers included in this recall begin with 82030001 through 82079999 and are located under the cooktop’s maintop.

TO LIFT THE MAINTOP, remove the two front elements and reflector bowls. Use the element area when lifting upwards. (DO NOT LIFT BY THE ELEMENTS) While the cooktop is raised, the support stand should drop towards the front of the rough-in box that contains the unit. Use one hand to firmly hold the cooktop in the raised position. Use the other hand to pull the support stand forward to the front of the rough-in box. This will hold the support stand in the raised position. Ensure that the support stand is securely placed before reaching under cooktop.

Please check the serial numbers on your cooktop. If your cooktop serial number matches our recall numbers listed above, please stop using the cooktop and contact our Thermador TMH45 Hotline at (800-758-1001) between the hours of 8a.m.and 5p.m. Eastern Standard Time. We will make arrangements to have your cooktop repaired at your convenience.

TO LOWER THE COOKTOP, hold the cooktop with one hand and push on the side of the support stand, towards the rear of the rough-in box. Once the support stand has been released, use two hands to lower the cooktop to the counter level.
