Activate Over-the-Air Updates in Your Thermador Oven

Step 1: Pair Your Thermador Oven

Pair your Thermador Oven with the Home Connect® app and check to see if you have Air Fry and Air Sous Vide Mode activated.
If you are not already paired, you can follow the directions below:

Install the Home Connect® App on your smart device.

Open the App. Create a Home Connect® account.

Then pair your Wall Oven to Wi-Fi by following the instructions in the Home Connect® App.

Step 2: Verify Air Fry and Air Sous Vide Mode

Verify that Air Fry and Air Sous Vide has been added to your Thermador Oven cooking modes. You can do this by checking the Oven display or looking in the Home Connect® App.

If the Air Fry and Air Sous Vide option are not visible in the Home Connect® App or on your oven display, it may be necessary to update your oven's software. For more details, please click here.

Is Preheating Required for Thermador Air Fry Capable Mode?

Preheating is not required, but recommended. Foods can be placed in the cold Oven, but for optimal performance we recommend letting the Oven preheat.

How Long Does the Over-the-Air (OTA) Software Download for Thermador Air Fry and Air Sous Vide Take?

After you pair your Oven, if you do not see 'Air Fry' and ‘Air Sous Vide’ automatically, it means you need to update your Oven with the new software. You will receive a notification when the software is available to download. The estimated download time is up to 6 hours and can fluctuate based on network connection quality.

 

If you haven’t modified or updated your app settings in the Home Connect® app your oven will download the software automatically. Once downloaded you will be asked to confirm the installation of the software. The total installation time is approximately 10-15 minutes.

Can You Continue To Operate the Oven Normally During the Over-the-Air (OTA) Software Download

Yes, you can maintain regular Oven usage throughout the download process. However, using the appliance during the download will PAUSE the process and make the download time longer.

What Occurs During the Software Installation Process After the Software Download?

Software is currently undergoing installation on the Oven, and it is imperative to keep the oven powered on throughout this process. You may observe a temporary "disconnected" status for the appliance on the Home Connect® app during this brief period, which is normal.

In the Event of a Power Outage During the Below Actions, What Happens?

If a power outage occurs during the software download the download process will resume upon power restoration.

 

If a power outage occurs during the software installation, you can experience an error code or black screen on your user interface. If you experience this, please contact customer service for assistance.

Do I Need To Maintain Wi-Fi Connection After Pairing in Order To Keep Air Fry and Air Sous Vide Mode?

No, once you have paired this appliance and Air Fry mode has appeared on your Oven display, you are no longer required to maintain Wi-Fi connection. As long as your oven is paired to a Home Connect® account these modes will be available offline.

What Happens if I See an Error Display on the Screen? E0211, E1610, E0510

If your Oven displays the following error codes (E0211, E1610, E0510) during the update process press the “TIMERS” button to dismiss the error code. If the error code does not go away, perform a power cycle* on the Oven. This will clear the error code and the update will finish.

Power Cycle the Appliance – Turn off the break to the appliance. Wait 30 seconds. Power on the breaker to the appliance. The error should no longer be present on the screen.

Will My Oven or Range Receive the Dark Mode Update?

Dark mode allows you to change the display on your Oven or range to allow for better contrast. Only the following models can receive this dark mode update:
