There are so many delicious possibilities for these beautiful champagne floats. Use your favorite sparkling wine or non-alcoholic fizzy drink. Choose from sorbets, gelatos, sherbets or ice cream for the cold sweet treats in each glass. The slight fruitiness of a Brut Rose Champagne is perfect for the sorbet floats, but any delicious sparkling wine will work nicely.
Makes 1 Champagne Float
Ingredients
About 4 oz. Rosé Champagne, Cava, Prosecco, Lambrusco or any preferred sparkling wine (for non-alcoholic use sparkling white grape juice, ginger ale or any sparkling drink)
1-2 scoops of fruit sorbet, gelato, sherbet or ice cream
Strawberry or Raspberry garnish (optional)
Directions
1. Scoop and add sorbet or your choice of sweet dessert into glass.
2. Slowly pour sparkling wine or alternate beverage into the glass, stopping frequently to allow the bubbles to settle a bit before continuing to your desired amount.
3. If desired, add a slice of berry fruit on top for garnish or garnish the berries with a cocktail pick.
4. Enjoy each sip as the ice cream melts or serve with a spoon for scooping.
