The sticky, citrusy and bright flavors of blood orange glazed ham is a perfect entertaining treat. The balance of citrus flavors with savory ham is a showstopper for a stunning occasion.

Ingredients
8-10 lb. spiral-cut ham
1 1/2 lbs. baby potatoes, cut in halves if larger than bite sized
1/2 cup chicken broth or water
4 sprigs fresh herbs (thyme, oregano or parsley)
Blood Orange Glaze
1/4 cup butter1 cup brown sugar
1 cup blood orange juice (or regular orange juice or tangerine juice)
1 cup honey or maple syrup
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter then whisk in the brown sugar, blood orange juice, honey or maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, and clove.
3. Bring to a gentle boil and simmer, whisking occasionally, for about 5 minutes or until slightly thickened. Remove from heat.
4. Place the ham, cut side down in a 9x13 baking dish. Surround the ham with the baby potatoes.
5. Pour in the broth or water, then baste & pour about 1/2 the blood orange glaze over the ham.
6. Cover the pan with foil. Bake covered at 350°F for about 1 1/2 - 2 hours (about 12 minutes per pound).
7. Remove the ham from the oven and increase the heat to 425°F.
8. Take the foil off the ham and baste the ham with the glaze and juices in the pan.
9. Return the ham to the oven and finish baking at 425°F for about 20 minutes or until the ham the glaze is caramelized and the ham’s internal temperature is at least 140°F.
10. Heat the remaining blood orange glaze to a simmer and serve with the ham. If you have extra blood oranges, slice the blood oranges and serve with the ham and potatoes.
