    We invite you to showcase your best in the premier 2010-2011 Thermador Kitchen Design Challenge. Entry is free, the rules are simple and the prizes are extravagant. Eight regional winners will receive a $5,000 cash prize and an expense-paid trip for two to the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Gainey Ranch for a magnificent celebration weekend in the Spring of 2012. Regional winners will also compete for an additional $60,000 in national prizes in two design categories to honor the best of the best.

  • Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Gainey Ranch
    Regional Winners
    Regional winners competing within eight defined sales territories will receive $5,000 cash for the best use of Thermador in any residential kitchen design and will compete for national prizes in the categories listed below. Regional winners will also receive a trip for two to the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Gainey Ranch for a magnificent celebration weekend in the Spring of 2012.

    National Winners: Traditional/Transitional
    The regional winner with the best use of Thermador in a traditional/transitional residential kitchen design will receive a grand prize of $20,000 cash. One second place winner will receive $10,000 cash.

    National Winners: Contemporary/Modern
    The regional winner with the best use of Thermador in a contemporary/modern residential kitchen design will receive a grand prize of $20,000 cash. One second place winner will receive $10,000 cash.

    In addition to cash prizes and a luxury trip, winners will also have the opportunity to be featured in national publications and on the Thermador web site.
  • 1. Is it necessary to use all Thermador appliances in my kitchen design to enter the contest?
      Yes, the kitchen design must utilize only Thermador appliances. However, exceptions will be made for other brand appliances only when Thermador does not offer a similar product in our lineup.
     
    2. What type of photography do I need to include?
      As detailed in the official rules, you need to provide a minimum of two color photographs of the completed kitchen. Photos should be no smaller than 5" x 7" and no larger than 8.5" x 11". We encourage you to submit additional photos to show various perspectives and design details. "Before" shots are also welcomed. Professional photography is not required, but images should be clear and focused. If submitting a mail-in entry, you may mount photos to board to ensure they arrive safely, but please do not put photos in a binder or portfolio.
     
    3. What type of drawings do I need to include?
      Artwork such as blueprints, floor plans, elevation drawings and perspectives are welcomed but not required. If you do submit artwork, pieces should be no larger than 8.5" x 11".
     
    4. What should the narrative contain?
      The narrative should fully describe your kitchen design. You can tell us about your client, outline the objectives and how Thermador products worked into the overall design. You can describe the design challenges you encountered and how you solved them. The narrative should be no more than 300 words.
     
    5. May I enter more than one kitchen design in the contest?
      Providing each kitchen design meets the criteria, there is no limit to the number of entries you submit. However, you are eligible to win only one regional prize and one national prize.
     
    6. What is the deadline for entries and when will the regional winners be announced?
      All online entries must be completed no later than December 1, 2011, at midnight PST. Mail-in entries must be postmarked by December 1, 2011. Regional winners will be announced the first week in January, 2012, and the national winners will be announced at the Thermador Kitchen Design Challenge celebration weekend in Scottsdale, AZ. Regional winners need not be present to win.
     
    7. Where do I get an entry form?
      We encourage you to enter online beginning March 1, 2010. Simply set up a profile, complete the online entry form, write a narrative of no more than 300 words, and upload your photos. If you prefer to mail-in your entry, you can download an entry form from the web site. If you don't have online access, you can obtain an entry form from your local dealer or by calling 1-866-572-9402.
     
    8. When and where will the regional winners go for their trip?
      Regional winners will attend a magnificent weekend celebration at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Gainey Ranch in the Spring of 2012.
