Ingredients for caramel:
1/2 tsp fresh lemon juice
16 large eggs
1 can of condensed milk
2 cans of water
2 cans of fresh milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
Note: Use the empty can of condensed milk to measure water & fresh milk
Heat sugar, water and lemon juice until turn brown, put caramel in small ramekins and let it cool
Preheat oven to 350F.
Beat eggs slightly and add condensed milk and mix well. Add vanilla. Heat water and milk for 2 minutes or until hot to the touch. Add hot water & milk to egg's mixture and mix well. Strain egg mixture through the prepared ramekins. Put ramekins in a baking pan filled with hot water and bake for 1- 1 hour 15 minutes (depending on your oven). Use a small knife to test , if it comes out clean, it is done.
Let flan cool and put in refrigerator until cold and invert into small plate just before serving.
