Thermador is proud to play a starring role in the heart of the Washington, DC Design House, the region’s foremost annual residential design attraction, which is open for tours through May 11, 2014. Talented designer and Thermador Design Council member Nadia Subaran of Aidan Design was selected to create the traditional-style kitchen of the historic home, which was built in 1929.

To create a kitchen fit for a culinary enthusiast, yet embrace the home’s historic roots, Subaran selected Thermador cooking and refrigeration appliances to provide ultimate performance and design. Our Pro Grand® Steam Range is featured front-and-center in the traditional-style kitchen, boasting six Star® Burners (including our ExtraLow® simmer and 22,000 BTUs Power Burner), a titanium grill/griddle, convection oven, warming drawer and a steam and convection oven. It truly is a magnificent statement piece in the kitchen, with its bold chiseled stainless steel design and restaurant-style knobs and handles.

To further maintain the traditional feel of the space, Subaran selected to place custom panels on the built-in Thermador appliances. Custom paneled Freedom® Collection fresh food and freezer columns provide ample food storage options and boast theater LED lighting and full-extension drawers inside, while two Topaz® dishwashers  are included to provide maximum clean-up power for even the most delicate serving-ware and stemware after an evening of entertaining. In the wine room/butler’s pantry, two Freedom® Collection wine columns store top vintages that will adorn the table for family and friends.

Together with special details that Subaran excels at bringing into her stunning kitchen designs, the space exemplifies all the modern conveniences a culinary enthusiast wants today, expertly blended into a space that embraces the traditional style of the home.

The Washington, DC Design House features rooms created by the area’s top designers, demonstrating inspiring design and top furnishings, materials and appliances for today’s homes.
