Just in time for spring, earth-tone shades, stonework and floral components are taking center stage in kitchen designs. While cool neutrals and all-white aesthetics have long remained top trends, this year, natural shades and elements are set to define design. From countertops to cabinetry and everywhere in between, here are some of my favorite ways to incorporate this style into your kitchen.

Warm Wood Features

To add a bit more warmth to a classic white kitchen design, swap out painted cabinets for warm wood tones. The deep, rich wood creates a stunning contrast to the crisp cool white – and can work wonders to liven up a space – whether you opt for a traditional or modern kitchen design. And, for those who prefer to utilize custom paneling to seamlessly integrate appliances into the room, Thermador makes for the perfect partner to complete the stunning look!

Rich Accent Colors

Last year, deep jewel tones offset the neutral color palette that has been prevalent in design, but in 2018, a warmer vibe is set to ensue. Reds, warm grays, and earthy shades such as camel, tobacco, burnt-orange and rust are taking over to provide a sophisticated and rich look in the kitchen.

Concrete and Stone Textures

Stainless steel remains a prominent feature in kitchen designs – from striking Thermador appliances to commercial-style cabinets and sinks. And, warmer hues and grittier textures provide the perfect complementary contrast. As the shift to more natural components continues, we can expect to see kitchens contain more concrete and stone elements than ever before – as well as a greater use of bronzes and black shades. An earthier alternative to marble or granite, these materials can be bold or modest, and they fit easily into a variety of kitchen designs.

Floral Patterns

Along with wood and stone, it doesn’t get earthier than florals! In 2018, pretty floral patterns are making their way back into kitchen designs everywhere – from bold backsplashes to floral-inspired colors. Plus, with a show-stopping Thermador range as the ultimate centerpiece, this lively look is sure to make a splash in the kitchen! To keep things fresh, going botanical in high-contrast colors such as black and white or teal and gold is an especially stunning and unique way to showcase a familiar style.
